When someone dies, it’s never an easy time. At Bartholomew & Sons Funeral Directors we are here to help you take the necessary steps. This begins with some practical tasks to confirm and register the death and choosing a funeral director to help you through this difficult time.
Let us help you
Confirming the death
This is likely to be a very upsetting and distressing time for you.
The first thing you need to do is notify the relevant people and have the death confirmed.
The initial steps you will need to take will vary depending on where the death occurred. We are here to help you through this.
Choose a funeral director to collect your loved one and take them into their care
When you are ready, you should contact a funeral director to arrange for your loved one to be taken into their care at the funeral home.
At Bartholomew & Sons Funeral Directors we will look after your loved one as if they are a member of our own family and will help and guide you through this difficult time to arrange the funeral.
Registering the death
Registering the death of a loved one is a necessary step to take after the death has been confirmed.
In England, the death must be registered within 5 days. We explain what needs to be done, where you need to go, what happens and what documentation you will need to take with you.
