After the funeral
At Bartholomew & Son’s our care for you and your family doesn’t end with the funeral service. We understand that the days, weeks, and months following a funeral can be some of the most challenging, and we are here to offer continued support in every way we can.
Let us help you
Help in dealing with grief
Grief affects people in different ways, and there are no rules as to how long each stage of grief should last, as each person’s experience is unique to them.
It’s quite natural to feel sadness in the days, weeks and months after the funeral. But you may also find that it is possible to smile and even laugh, and that’s perfectly fine too.
It is important to seek and accept help, whether that be from family and friends, or from a professional grief counsellor.
Creating a lasting memorial after a cremation
After a cremation, you may wish to choose a beautiful urn to display the ashes, or to allow you to scatter them.
You may also wish to create a lasting memorial, such as placing the ashes carefully into a piece of jewellery or a keepsake.
Our team at Bartholomew & Sons can show you a range of different options, and help you create a beautiful and special memorial to your loved one.
Creating a lasting memorial after a burial
When you are ready, you may like to mark the place where your loved one is buried with a headstone or grave marker.
A headstone can be made in a whole range of materials, shapes and sizes, but cemeteries and churchyards do have specific rules regarding the material, design, size and wording of memorials they allow.
Our sister business Clarksons Memorials is located within our Rotherham funeral home, so please allow us to help you create a truly meaningful and lasting memorial to your loved one.
