The Chapels of Rest at Bartholomew & Sons are peaceful rooms, with soft lighting and a respectful atmosphere.
We have Chapels of Rest at both our Rotherham and Maltby funeral homes.
Make an appointment
Whichever of our funeral package you choose, you can use our Chapel of Rest to spend time with your loved one before the funeral.
We just ask that you book at appointment with us, so we can ensure that you will have the privacy you need and our team will make the necessary preparations.
We’ll be here to support you
Before you enter the Chapel of Rest, we will explain to you what to expect inside and how your loved one might look.
We will be available during your entire visit for support or for you to ask us any questions.
Personal time & reflection
You can take as much or as little time as you need. There is no rush, and we will give you privacy, unless you ask us otherwise.
You may want to say a few words, say a prayer, play some music, or simply sit in silence, it’s up to you.
You also may wish to bring a small item to leave with your loved one, such as a flower, a letter or photo.
Cultural & religious considerations
If you have any specific cultural or religious rituals or practices that you wish to undertake, such as offering prayers, burning incense or bringing special items, please just let us know and we can make any special arrangements needed to accommodate these practices.
After the visit
Visiting a loved one in a Chapel Of Rest is an emotional experience, and it’s normal to feel a range of different emotions. It’s important to give yourself time and space to process these feelings.
